Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old. One account per person, using your real identity — no impersonation and no accounts operated on someone else’s behalf. If you have previously been banned from Noir, you may not create a new account.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity on your account. Your display name and date of birth are locked once your profile is created; this protects our age gates and keeps the community honest. Contact support if there is a genuine error.

You may optionally verify a phone number. See our SMS Policy.

Community standards

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. They describe expected behavior, prohibited content, and what happens when rules are broken.

Content you post

You own the photos, videos, prompts, bio, and messages you post. By posting them you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate Noir — for example, showing your photo to other members. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required for safety or legal reasons.

Screening and moderation

Media is screened automatically. Photos and video frames are scanned before anyone can see them, and content identified as explicit or violent is rejected at upload.

Text moderation recommends; people decide. Automated systems may flag profile text or room messages for human review. No automated system can warn, suspend, restrict, or ban you. Every enforcement action on Noir is taken by a person and recorded against that person.

Depending on severity, outcomes include content removal, a room cooldown, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban.

Community rooms

Community rooms are topic-based group conversations; some are age-gated. In rooms marked anonymous, other members will not see your identity — but Noir retains the ability to identify the author of any message internally, for safety investigations and enforcement of these Terms. We say this plainly so nobody mistakes anonymity from other members for anonymity from us.

Reporting, appeals, and blocking

You can block any member, and report content or accounts. Reports are reviewed by people. If your account is suspended or banned you may appeal from the account status screen; appeals are read by a person.

Meeting people safely

Noir does not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of any member. You are solely responsible for your interactions, on and off the app. Read our Safety Tips before meeting anyone in person.

Subscriptions

Noir does not currently offer paid subscriptions, and no payment method is collected. If paid features launch, pricing and terms will be disclosed in the app before any purchase, purchases will be processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and refunds will follow those platforms’ policies. These Terms will be updated before that happens.

Intellectual property

The Noir name, logo, design, and underlying software are ours and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing here transfers that ownership to you. IP claims: legal@noirblackdating.com.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings; this is permanent. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms or our Community Guidelines, or where required by law. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is retained after deletion.

Disclaimers

Noir is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will find a match. Noir is a tool for connection, not a guarantee of outcomes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noir and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including your interactions with other members.

Changes

We may update these Terms as Noir evolves. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Noir after that means you accept the updated Terms.
